Virginia’s annual Sales Tax Holiday Weekend starts tomorrow, Friday, October 20th at 12:01 AM and runs through Sunday, October 22nd at 11:59 PM.

This weekend only, Virginians can buy the following without paying state sales tax: School Supplies & Clothing
Qualified school supplies costing less than $20 per item
Qualified shoes and clothing costing less than $100 per item
Hurricane & Emergency Preparedness Items
Portable generators costing less than $1,000 per item
Chainsaws (gas powered) costing less than $350 per item
Chainsaw accessories costing less than $60 per item
Other specified hurricane preparedness items costing less than $60 per item
Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ Products
Qualifying Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ items less than $2,500 per item; must be purchased for noncommercial and personal use
